Fresh Produce For Free
A Food Bucks Prescription (FBRx) voucher that can be accepted at neighborhood redemption sites, such as food pantries and corner stores, in exchange for fresh fruit and vegetables.
Provides opportunities to grow and sell produce as well as provide free virtual gardening workshops like Root Camp 101. This online course is hosted by local experts from Free Haven Farms and covers the basics of for-profit urban farming.
The FBRx voucher is a new program RTP is piloting. Several Camden patients suffering illnesses linked to their diets are receiving a prescription for fresh fruits and vegetables. These vouchers can be redeemed for healthy food options outside of their doctors' offices at participating locations closer to their homes.
RTP gives Camden households the opportunity to ask questions about their experience with growing fresh fruits and vegetables. We provide a helpline and questions and answers field box here to complete. Members can expect to hear back from a grower within 24 hours.
Roots to Prevention is a resident-driven collaborative. We invite program participants, members, and non-members to meet with us virtually with Zoom Conference bi-weekly for updates and to provide feedback.
